Explorations In Form And Material

These studies focused on using contrasting materials applied to structures that are harmonized in form. Urethane foam and expanded metal, materials that do not often coexist, are brought into a tense harmony. Twine acts to lash the contrasting materials together and holds the materials in shape through tension, contributing to the contrast created by the two base materials.

Exploring both modules and organic form in the built environment, these studies focused on taking individual modules made of twine and amassing collections of them to affect architectural space.
